Our Offerings
Papalana focuses on EU organic certified natural wine from the piemonte region in northern Italy and organic coffee from Ethiopia. As we know, wine and coffee have many similarities. They are both picked by hands, processed and transformed into different charming aromas.
what we do is seeking minimum intervention products with maximum care around the world.
Natural Wine
Simply put, we taste the grapes and we follow the flavors we find most intriguing. We prefer to destem the grapes by hand or press them directly, sometimes macerated together, sometimes left to ferment by itself. This is all done during the first weeks after the harvest. From here, we take a hands-off approach, which means that we do not interfere with the process. In other words nothing added, nothing removed. Instead, we set the wines free to be whatever wines they want to be.
Papalana’s natural wine comes from the piedmont region of Italy. Here, we take natural farming method to plant grapes, and minimum human intervention in every step of wine making, hope to preserve the most natural wine.

Every year, during the coffee picking season or every summer grape picking season, our family drive a recreational vehicle to the hillsides of Monferrato to prepare early for picking grapes. The picking season is usually at August-September, every bunch of grapes need to be picked by hands in order to select the best quality grapes. Although the summer is hot, and sometimes the temperature on the hillside reaches 40 degrees Celsius, we can still see friendly faces, because this is the joy of harvest.
Organic Coffee
Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, about 25% of the Ethiopian population directly or indirectly depend on coffee production for their livelihood. The coffee trees are cared manually, they use organic and did’t use harmful pesticides and herbicides . The reason why Ethiopia coffee beans are famous all over the world is not only the superior geographical location suitable for the growth of coffee trees but also the ldeeply love for coffee of local coffee farmers, they take care of the coffee trees like taking care of their own children, and process the coffee cherries by hand in every step.
Although a lot of coffee is produced every year, the economic level is far lower than other regions. Here, farmers do not have equal opportunities to earn a living because of a series of factors, such as low prices, regional conflicts. Most children drop out of school when they are 7 years old because of lack of educational opportunities and budget. Even so, there still have light in their eyes. Some young people with potential, they are strong, and have great confidence to change their lives. We want to help them by creating opportunities and bringing their organic coffee to more people.
